United States Attorney General Eric Holder stated referring to AstraZeneca's Seroquel Settlement with DOJ: "These were not victimless crimes" April 27th, 2010
My name is Mary Weiss. My son Dan Markingson died while taking 800 mg. of Seroquel and 'participating' in the CAFE study at the University of Minnesota. We attempted, for five months, to get Dan released from the study, even asking if we had to wait for him to kill himself before anyone did anything. The answer, by their silence, was 'yes.' A lawsuit ensued, the result of which was that the expert witness charges were more than the results of the settlement. It has been seven years since Dan died, and Seroquel is continuing to harm and kill. Unethical doctors, who reap hundreds of thousands of dollars from the pharmaceutical companies, continue to harm - and profit mightily. It is well past time for this to stop. For those who want more information on Dan, simply Google: Dan Markingson.Mary, his mother
Thank you for stopping by Mary: & for being the first to comment on this blog. Dan's story is a powerful and disturbing testimony of pharmaceutical and medical corruption that has gone unchecked for far to long. There has been a horrible human cost that has been perpetrated upon America and the World by Corporations like AstraZeneca. I agree with you 110%; It is far past time to these crimes to be confronted and stopped.I have been following your journey for some time now. Peace be with you.
Dear Mary, I also lost a son and I know your pain. I send my heart, love and prayers to you. I attempted suicide last month while taking Seroquel. I had no desire to kill myself and feel like I was in a Seroquel trance when I took an overdose of pills. If you want to read my story here is my bloghttp://seroquelsuicide.blogspot.com/Please take care of yourself. Our sons love us
